Feng Shuxian - architect & photographer
Feng Shuxian (馮淑嫻) is a Chinese architect and photographer based in Tokyo. She has been active around the world to better understand the designing space and built environment.
During the college study, she was chosen as an exchange student to Italy to study architecture for one year. After graduating with a Bachelor in Urban Planning, she started her architecture career in Beijing for 2 years. Because in 2016 one project was suffered a flood, she decided to continue her researches with a Master and Doctoral program in Tokyo to rethink the relationships among people, architecture, and urban environment.
As an architect, she has worked for highly respected design firms including PRAXiS d'ARCHITECTURE, Hazama Ando Corporation, and Kengo Kuma and Associates.
In recent years, as a team member of PRAXiS d'ARCHITECTURE, the design team received prestigious awards from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design(USA), The American Architecture Prize, World Interior News Awards(UK), Iconic Architecture Awards(Germany), Architizer A+Awards(USA), A’ Design Awards (Italy), etc.
As a photographer, her photos have been widely published internationally by Dezeen, Frame, ArchDaily, Architizer, CONCEPT Magazine, ARCHITECT Magazine, DETAIL, Contemporist, V2COM, AW Design Magazine, ARCHIPENDIUM, gooood, UED, etc.
feng shuxian photography is based in Tokyo, she is a member of Japan Architectural Photographers Society (日本建築写真家協会). She works internationally.
